The 8th & Walton Blog recently profiled Walmart.com’s Spark Reviewer program, which sends consumers free products to try out and then review on Walmart.com.
The post pointed out that Walmart.com clearly understands the importance of quality customer reviews as a marketing tool:
“Consumer reviews continue to be among the most trusted sources of product information, and many shoppers check Amazon reviews as they shop in their local Walmart. Walmart is very sensibly working to get shoppers to check Walmart.com reviews instead. Walmart suppliers should take advantage of the opportunity to join in the program.“
Walmart.com is also seeking product information from suppliers to further enhance e-commerce listings.
