Burberry Sues Target Over Trademark Plaid — StarTribune.com

Burberry has filed a lawsuit against Target, alleging that the retailer’s “cheap-chic” plaid accessories and apparel violate Burberry’s trademarks:

“Target is the latest retailer to find itself in the cross hairs of Burberry over its use of a certain kind of plaid. P.S. While Walmart is definitely upping its apparel game and seeking affordable, fashionable items for its assortment, it is still concerned about trademark compliance. Make sure your team is aware of trademark and intellectual property issues when you manufacture or direct import your items.
